This Week Has Flown By!

I can't believe it's Friday already.  We have had such a busy week (as usual).  Sadie and I were sick at the beginning of the week.  I forgot how difficult it is to care for a child when you are ill.  When your child is feeling poor, it's even worse. One day, I would just crawl over to the DVD player and put on movie after movie.  Luckily, we are all better and have gotten through the week.  Sadie's EEG was normal.  We went to the geneticist and it was pretty intense.  Such a detailed examination, but, luckily, no obvious signs of any specific syndrome or disease.  We are just ruling out a few more syndromes, and then we will be finished with all testing.  So far, all has been normal.  No fun watching your baby be poked and prodded constantly.  They took three vials of blood, and she was such a champ.  That hurt my heart a little bit.  It's sad that she hardly even cries any more with blood draws or strangers touching her.  We had PT this morning.  Sadie was screaming initially, then finally gave in and started  to use her hands.  I absolutely love her PT.  She never gives in or gives up.  It made me realize I need to be more firm with Sadie and her goals.  She is just such a stubborn little thing.  Luckily, we won the "battle of the glasses".  It's far from over, but we will continue to win these small battles.  This afternoon, we have a new speech therapist starting therapy with Sadie.  We have moved her OT/Speech from Tyler to Longview.  It just makes sense.  She will also have a developmental specialist come to the house to "play" with her.  I am just so happy that she is rarely sick and is happy most of the time.  My heart breaks for those families with different circumstances.  She is such an amazing blessing to our lives.  I don't know what I would do without her.  We are doing a Bible study at church, and one passage from Beth Moore was so relevant to my heart.

"The truth is, God uses change to change us.  He doesn't use it to destroy us or distract us but to coax us to the next level of character, experience, compassion, and destiny."

"The God who began a good work within us continues it throughout our lifetime and will finish it when we meet him face to face."  Philippians 1:6

Sadie trying to eat Ben's little stretch brain he received as a reward at school.  So gross, but perfect for Halloween! :)
