Today was the last day of school. This is Sadie's fan club :)

His teacher is the sweetest and gave me such a nice gift of Tyler Candle Company candles with a sweet card.  I gave her a big hug and thanked her for teaching my boy.

This is Sadie trying to destroy the documents for the sale of our house.  Is she trying to tell us something?

I know I'm going to be a mess the next few weeks, but I feel at peace with our decision.  I know it is part of our plan and it will all be fine when we get there :)

Happenings

Our house is officially on the market!  It has not been listed yet, but will be today. We have been so busy this week finishing up the small details.  I wish I could just go live in a hotel until it sells.  It is very difficult to make sure everything is put away. We have "family meetings" every night regarding this.

In other news, Ben graduated to his wolf status at Cub Scouts this past weekend :)

Ben, Miles, and Julian helped out at Martha's Kitchen

Sadie favorite things: yogurt pretzels and scooting in circles

Pray our house sells quickly!

The Declutter of 2011

My sister and mom are here to help me with this task.  It has been exhausting (mentally and physically).  It is so hard for me to get rid of things that have any sentimental value...that would be almost everything in the house.  Melissa has been so good about asking me "do you REALLY need it?". My mom has been behind us in each room, cleaning baseboards, floors, window sills, and more.  She loves to clean and is great at it!  Greg has been busy outside, trimming bushes and working on the roof.  Sadie and the boys (Ben, Miles, and Julian) have been champs during this whole "adventure", keeping themselves busy with whatever they can find.  The boys did ask if we could take them to Chuck E. Cheese yesterday. We just looked at them and said "um, no.".  I know they are starting to go crazy cooped up in this house. Yesterday, around 5 pm, we realized they were still in their pajamas, and we found a bag of cheetos in the room where they were watching cartoons :) Sadie is becoming annoyed too.  We put her in each room we are working on, but she tells us in her own way when she needs attention...by screaming REALLY loud.  Today, I am serving at Martha's Kitchen and the boys will travel along.  Ben always goes to serve, but it will be a new experience for Miles and Julian :)  They will love it!

MRI #2

I have no idea why my pictures will not upload, but I want to post anyway.

Sadie had her scheduled MRI yesterday and did very well.  I always hate to watch her while she is being sedated and getting an IV, but I wanted to be in there.  They only let me stay until she is fully sedated, but I'll take what I can get.  She had a 3T MRI, which is more detailed than her previous one.  We stayed the night in Dallas and tried to make it as enjoyable as possible, swimming and playing.  We knew she would be a bit groggy after, but she always comes out perfectly fine.  That girl wanted to eat and play!  It was a large hospital and they had me take her to recovery in a wheelchair which was new to me.  I felt like I had just given birth again. We will have the results in a week or so.

She was scheduled for hippotherapy today and I was a bit worried about her balance after sedation, but she had a wonderful ride.

My mother, sister, and nephews will be arriving tomorrow and I am a little apprehensive about the de-cluttering of our home, but I know they will make it happen.

The realtor will be here on Wednesday of next week and will list our house.  I am hoping for a quick sell :)

Our Weekend

Saturday, we went to Haley's birthday party.  She is the sweetest girl and spent a alot of time playing with Sadie.  I was afraid to go during Sadie's naptime, but Sadie loved it!  She loves watching children run around, so it was perfect.  There was skating, scooting, snacks, cake, and a pinata :)

Sadie had her usual "fan club" from school, which was nice.  One girl told her mom "she is handicapped" and another asked me "is she still blind?".  Those girls are so sweet to care about her medical issues.  Apparently, Ben has been educating them :)

Today, I was scheduled for nursery duty at church and showed up in jeans, but they have hired an additional nursery worker, so I was able to attend the service.  The sermon was about The Good Shepherd and how we can all work in our community to help others.  Jesus was the ultimate Good Shepherd, but I know I can do more if I try.  We all can.

Ben asked where we are going on vacation this summer.  My response? Nebraska.  So funny.  We have been exploring different places we can travel to in Omaha, so he is excited.

Well, I'm off to try and finish cleaning my house and pack for Sadie's upcoming MRI :)

#8

I've already posted about Ben's birthday celebration, but today is the actual day!  On May 14th, 2003, Ben came into this world at 12:29 am, weighing 6 lbs 2.5 oz., 18 inches long.  He was screaming until I kissed his sweet face.

It is so hard to believe he will be in 3rd grade soon!

I let him sleep with me last night and we snuggled this morning as we went through his baby book.  I cried a lot!  I spoke to the Lord to let him know how grateful I am for this precious child.

He spent some time with his sister this morning, and then they shared some chocolate glazed doughnuts :)  His plate was empty in no time!

Today he will spend some of his birthday money, eat at Fisherman's Market , and attend another birthday party at a local church.

I love this boy so much!

Nebraska!

Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I hardly can even remember my name these days!

Things that are going on:

We are moving to Nebraska!  I just keep saying that over and over to myself hoping it will sink in.  I know it is the right move, but we are all going a bit crazy.

I have had to reschedule all of Sadie's appointments and it seems like it's neverending.  Her detailed MRI has been rescheduled for Tuesday, so we will travel to Dallas Monday afternoon.  Sedation on my baby girl always scares me, but she has never had a previous problem.

Speaking of Monday afternoon, the realtor will be visiting to tell me everything I need to "fix" to sell our house.

My sister and mom are coming soon to help me de-clutter.  Please say a prayer for them.  It's not going to be an easy task.

Tomorrow is Ben's birthday :)  He has decided to spend it celebrating one of his friend's birthdays :)
I'm sure he'll make me take him to Dread Lobster, though - oops, I meant Red Lobster.  He finally will spend some of his birthday money!

I can't believe his last day of school is May 27th!  I have to prepare him for camp sometime between now and June 17th and I am leading the nursery Vacation Bible School prior to that. Oh my! And there's the planned house hunting trip to Nebraska the first week of June. Do you see why I'm stressed?

I know once we arrive and get settled, everything will come together as planned ;)

And I hope you will be supportive as I continue to ramble on this blog for the next few months!

Just Had to Share

After a long day of phone calls and therapy (by the way we are moving to Nebraska!), we headed to Cub Scouts at 6 pm.  This is never easy on me when Greg is working. I have to walk up two flights of stairs, carrying my 30 pound child, a diaper bag, stroller, etc.  Last night, as we were leaving, I told Ben he needed to bring the stroller.  Do you know what he said?  "No Mom. I don't want to.  Besides, you are getting stronger every day."!!!  Needless to say, he was sent to bed immediately upon arriving home!

Field Trip

Yesterday, Ben's class traveled to the zoo.  This was the first time I was not able to drive him on a field trip.  Very hard on me!  Even the teacher asked why I was pacing in the bus parking lot as they pulled in!
I was assigned these 3 sweet boys and they were so much fun!  We visited the animals, the sno cone booth, and the gift shop :)  I was so relieved when Ben said he wanted to ride home with me!  He said it was the best zoo trip he's ever had.  Do you like his hat choice?

We are going to Dallas to celebrate his life this weekend :)  I can't wait!

I know I say this all the time, but Ben is the sweetest boy! He brings a smile to my face on hard days, comes up with the craziest jokes, hugs me, rubs my back, begs to snuggle me every night, and is the only one who can make his sister belly laugh.  His dad takes up for him constantly when he is in trouble! They are very good friends :)

Standing Frame

It's a little big for her, but she will need it for quite a while and will grow into it.  I have to admit, it has been very difficult for me to get her positioned, but I'm adjusting.  She doesn't seem to mind it, although she throws her glasses off the minute she gets into place.  I think she is telling me "one thing at a time, Mom" :)

I must add she ate an entire piece of tilapia, a whole banana, and a granola bar for dinner tonight!
