Therapy

Today was therapy appointment #2 for occupational therapy/speech therapy in Tyler.
During speech, I learned some new exercises to perform on Sadie to increase her oral tone.  She didn't scream as much as last week, so I see this as a win.  As a reward, she gets to swing on the tire swing, which she loves. She said "up" several times.  Ther therapist tries to have her sign more (which she does at home all the time) to no avail.

Next up...occupational therapy, where we attempted to just get Sadie to play and lean on her arm while side sitting.  Boy did she scream!  She just wants to sit regularly, play, and be left alone! Unfortunately, this is NOT GOOD.  She MUST get comfortable side sitting, pushing herself up to sit, and being independent/moving in general.  It was a difficult, but successful session.

FYI: Sadie is in the buff, so that the OT can do sensory stimulation on her body during therapy.

Needless to say, I have A LOT of work to do with Sadie this week. The therapists give us homework you know.

Tomorrow, I can breathe a sigh of relief. Sadie has hippotherapy. She loves it, improves weekly, and never cries!
